In-School Therapy

The DVFPS In-School Therapy initiative is targeted to reach at risk students whose academic performance, mental health and/or behavior has been below acceptable standards. Typically, these students have been placed in an alternative academic program so that they can benefit from intensified supports. Students in these groupings receive individual therapy, group therapy, testing and other supportive services. It is not unusual for theses students to be experiencing depression, post-traumatic stress, eating disorders or other debilitating symptoms.

DVFPS also offers psychiatric consultations or interventions when needed. DVFPS specializes is risk and violence assessment. For more than 25 years, our clinicians have been contracted to perform violence, risk and threat assessments for the Court of Common Pleas, Juvenile Division.

DVFPS retains a Certified School Psychologist for Psychoeducational and testing needs and a Doctoral level educational consultant with expertise in Special Education, truancy reduction and program development.
